Swatches of Julep's Savvy Suedes Collection

Arden: Today I've got a bunch of swatches of Julep's Savvy Suede collection.  They're unfortunately out of stock online right now, but when they are in stock, they're on sale for $20 for the 5 polishes which is a pretty good deal.

A few notes about these polishes in general: they're matte, so they dry pretty quickly.  This can make applying them a bit tricky.  I basically found that the best way to do it was to work really quickly and use as few strokes as possible.  I also think that the trick might be to just accept that if one coat isn't smooth, it's ok.  You'll be able to fix it on the next coat.  All of the swatches below are done using 3 coats.

First up is Amber, a bronze gold metallic matte polish.

Not gonna lie, this one might be my least favorite of the bunch.  It's a nice gold color, I'm just not sure how often I'll use it in the future.  Maybe when I need to use more than one gold polish in a design?

Second is Brit, a silver graphite matte polish.

I really like this one.  It is such a great blackish silver metallic!  I think it will make a cool base color for some neat nail art designs.

Third we have Minka, a red metallic matte polish.

This is a really interesting color, and unlike anything else I own.  On its own it looks more bronze-y, but with a top coat (pics below) it looks much more red.

This one is Hailee, a hunter green metallic matte polish.

This is also an unusual color.  I like how it's metallic, but not overly glittery (most metallic greens seem more glittery, I think).  This one paired w/ Minka (above) would look AWESOME together at Christmas time.

And finally, this is Nora.  It's kinda hard to describe; in some lights it might be slightly on the purple side, but I think it's more like a blacker version of Brit.

I think this might be my favorite (narrowly edging out Brit).  It reminds me of paved roads, if that makes sense.  It's basically very black with a silver sheen.  It's super cool!

And here they all are with a glossy top coat on them:

I think the top coat makes them all a little darker, and makes the silver metallic that's interspersed with each polish a little less defined.  The top coat actually made me like Amber A LOT more-- it comes off as so golden and shiny!

Well, if you've made it all the way to the end of this incredibly long post, way to go!  I'm impressed.  Let me know if you have a favorite out of this collection!

    1. Yeah, it's kinda amazing how different a top coat makes them look, right?
