Bridal Nails

Arden here!  As promised last week, here are a couple of bride-specific wedding nail designs I've come up with.

For Design #1, we have this awesome silver cross-hatch pattern:

I started by painting each nail but my ring finger with two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and then two coats of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu to give it a creamier, less white-white look.  On my ring finger I painted two coats of Sally Hansen Celeb City.  I painted a top coat of Seche Vite to help it dry faster.

Then I added striping tape in a cross-hatch pattern on all my nails:

And then I painted Celeb City on each nail (except my ring finger) and immediately removed the tape.  On my ring finger I painted a coat of My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Don't Touch My Tutu before removing the tape.

For Design #2, I was looking to go more sparkly, and incorporate some gold as well as silver.

This was achieved my painting my nails with one coat of Celeb City, then sponging on top a gradient of Celeb City  and Essie Good as Gold.   (I reversed the order of the silver and gold on my ring finger as an accent.)  I finished by dabbing on Milanie Gold over the already gold parts of the nail.

Here it is glossy:

And here it is mattified:

And finally, for Design #3, I decided I'd repurpose one of my favorite manicures---the fading dot gradient---with a wedding twist!

I started by painting my nails with two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  Then I sponged on a gradient of My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Sally Hansen Celeb City.  Then I used my largest dotting tool to make dots in My Boyfriend Scales Walls all over the nail.

You could also add a twist on this style by incorporating your wedding colors into the gradient (i.e.,  a pink-silver-white gradient).

I think out of these three designs, #3 is my favorite.  I'm a sucker for the fading dot look, and dots in general, and I love how the white and silver blend together in the gradient.  I also think #1 looks super cool, but I will warn you that it is a bit time-consuming to do.  (It takes a while to apply all that cross-hatched striping tape!)  Gradients in general are a much quicker manicure technique, and dots don't take nearly as long as you think they might!

So what do you guys think?  Which is your favorite?  Any requests?  Let me know!
