Nail Polish Swatches: Mod Lacquer Southwest Spring Collection

Hey guys, it's Lisl! I am so excited to share the Southwest Spring collection from a relatively new indie nail polish brand: Mod Lacquer.  These collection as a whole is just wonderful: they're all packed with glitter in jelly bases, very easy to apply and super beautiful.  Ok! On to the first swatch, Salida del Sol.

Salida del Sol is has the creamiest finish of the bunch and comes with hex glitters of all sizes and in all of the colors! It's coming out a little more canary yellow than pastel yellow in my pictures, so imagine it pastel-ier.  This polish reaches opacity very easily; I'm showing it here with three coats + two coats of Essie Good to Go top coat (actually all the polishes have two coats of Good to Go, so consider yourself informed for the remainder of the post).

I kept this polish on for days and never got sick of it, and generally I'm not a fan of yellow polishes.  It was like I was wearing delicious salsa on my fingers!  Next up: Puesta del Sol.

Puesta del Sol is a sheer pink jelly, again with loads of glitter. Seriously there are so many different colors, shapes and sizes of glitters in all of these polishes I don't think it is humanly possible for me to list them all.  Red! White! Blue! Yellow! Tiny green ones! Etc!

I think I had the hardest time getting this polish to be opaque, but the end result was beautiful; it would also be great for layering! I'm showing it here with four thin coats.  Now here we have Cielo Azul.

Like yellow polishes, baby blue is generally not my thing, but Cielo Azul has managed to win me over as well. Again, I'm not even going to attempt to list all the glitters in this bad boy, except to mention that it has square glitters! Square glitters! I love non-traditional glitter shapes.

I probably could have gotten away with three coats of this, but I used four here.  Also I very stupidly did not notice that I had a chip on my index finger in these pictures which is why it is very inelegantly cropped out. Sadface.  I saved my favorite polish for last, so hold on to your butts!  Here is Verde Montaña.

Verde Montaña is glitter central.  I already have a weakness for pale green polishes and this just about did me in.  It's a pastel green jelly base with pastel hex glitters of all shapes and sizes and ohmygod I think I have mermaids for finger nails.  I feel like I applied this very sloppily (I got glitter greedy) so these swatches do not do justice to this polish's absolute amazingness.  Guh.

I'm showing three coats here, but again you could probably get away with two.

I got the mini set of this collection, which was incredibly reasonably priced, and I would highly recommend it.  I think what I love best is that they are spring pastels, but they don't feel overly sweet or precious, so I don't feel like I'm four years old at my first easter egg hunt when I wear them.  All the polishes are available at the Mod Lacquer Etsy shop.

Have any of y'all tried any Mod Lacquer polishes? Let us know which ones you like in the comments!
