Arden here: Hi everyone! I'm super excited to report that I'm headed out tomorrow to visit family in Florida for a week! I can't wait!
To celebrate my impeding vacation, I painted my nails to match my destination! After an extensive Google search for "Florida nail art" I discovered this design. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to pull it off, but I think I did a pretty good job.
I started by painting my nails with two coats of L'Oreal Not a Cloud in Sight.
I then cut up a make-up sponge into little pieces and used each on to sponge on a different color of the sunset.
Colors used in the sunset:
Zoya Mira
Cover Girl Boundless Color Fuschia Girl
Zoya Arizona
Zoya Creamy
I then painted on a coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat over the sunset before drawing my beach design in an effort to prevent the colors from streaking together later.
I used Lisl's Color Club black striper polish to paint seagulls, island, palm tree, and boat on my nails. I was SUPER worried I wouldn't have the dexterity/artistic ability to pull of this design, but I think it turned out really great. If you think you can't possibly draw something on your nails in nail polish, give it a try sometime. You just might surprise yourself!
Look at that sailboat! |
I am just so in love with these nails. They're so bright and happy and are making me even more excited for my trip! I hope they'll last several days so I can show them off to all of my family on the East Coast!
I hope to keep posting from Florida this week, but if I fall behind, I know Lisl will be able to keep things afloat. I'll see you back full-time next week!
P.S. I'm thinking I will probably start posting to my personal blog again on this trip (I'm worried my travel arrangements are a comedy of errors waiting to happen), so if you're curious, check it out here: http://ardenelise.tumblr.com/
Oh my goodness, these are my favorite nails ever! Have a great trip Arden!
